Following up a week of good performances, the University of La Verne golf team travelled to Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course in San Diego last Friday and Saturday to compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Golf Championships.
On its way to a championship type season the University of La Verne golf team struck gold last Saturday coming in second place in the college division at the Southern California Intercollegiate Golf Championships (SCIGC) at Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course in San Diego with an overall score of 638 strokes.
The season came to an end for the University of La Verne’s golf team at the Sierra Country Club Monday, as it placed fifth in the SCIAC championships and the SCIAC overall.
All championship teams start at the bottom, working hard until they reach the top. Sometimes they do not stay very long because as the seasons go by, the players come and go. The University of La Verne has had many fine golf teams over the years, arguably one of the best ever only two seasons ago when they went 6-1 on their season.
