La Verne is working to move into the future with its master plan, which looks to add new facilities, including academic buildings, residence halls and parking lots, to its main campus. However, with all of this planned construction comes unfortunate demolition.
The Board of Trustees voted to approve the staging and financial proposal for Phase I of the University’s Master Plan at its Friday meeting, allowing the University to move forward to the construction phase.
The beginning of the school year marked the opening of the new on-campus parking structure as faculty, staff members, students and key La Verne residents participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Lawn.
As the new on-campus parking structure nears the end of its construction, there are plans to open it for University of La Verne students, faculty and staff to use between mid July to early August, ahead of its original Aug. 15 opening date and Sept. 1 official grand opening.
