As of Sept. 17, a total of 18,876 incidents of grand theft auto were reported this year in Los Angeles County, according to Los Angeles Police Department’s crime reports.
As University of La Verne senior Micheal Koon sat in class Sept. 27, his classic car was allegedly stolen out of the library parking lot, taken for a joyride, crashed into a ditch in Pomona and set on fire, according to La Verne Police and Koon.
Recent break-ins to vehicles on the University of La Verne campus over the last two weeks have been reported to Campus Safety and prompted the release of a warning to the ULV community.
