The Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding and Community Engagement hosted the 12th annual Spirit of La Verne Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday in the Sacred Space.

After a big win, the men’s soccer team beat the Whittier Poets, 2-0, Saturday to earn a berth in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. 

Students fell head over heels at the Fall in Love with the Office of Academic Advising and the Career Center workshop Tuesday.

The University of La Verne office of academic advising and career center are combining into one office, with the goal of serving students more thoroughly from choosing majors and classes as well as internships and careers.

The law, Assembly Bill 376, was approved by the legislature in August 2020, and went into effect last month. It protects students who borrow for their education as follows: It sets time frames for student loan providers that must be followed; it maintains records; and it requires proper training for customer service personnel in how not to engage in unfair practices.

A March Department of Education report highlighted the University of La Verne as an exemplary school for low-income students. ULV joins other private institutions such as Converse College in South Carolina, Agnes Scott College in Georgia and the Sage Colleges in New York as private institutions that have more than 40 percent Pell Grant recipients, with half of those recipients graduating in less than six years.
