Alumni speak about the lasting importance of public service
Service and connection were the themes of the Walking the Leo Walk event Saturday for students and alumni to discuss the roles of public servants and how they have chosen to enact change in their communities. The event was held over Zoom and Facebook Live.

Community joins to help the needy
The Interfaith Student Council held a day of service event with the Grow Better Together campaign on Saturday. It was a volunteer day dedicated to planting and cleaning community gardens. There was also a canned food and toy drive.
Forced service rarely comes from heart
Core 305 classes at the University of La Verne should be optional. Forcing community service on students does not encourage students to volunteer in the future.
