Proving that it can still compete against Division I schools, the University of La Verne men's volleyball team trounced Harvard University on Monday night in the Supertents. The Leopards won in four games, 15-11, 9-15, 15-4 and 15-11.
With inspired team play and dominating individual performances, the University of La Verne men's volleyball team upset No. 3 New York University and snapped its 15-match losing streak last night, before a raucous crowd in the Supertents.
Although host school University of La Verne had a disappointing showing, the Asics Division III Men's Volleyball Classic was a success, ULV head coach Jack Coberly said.
For the third time this season, the University of La Verne men's volleyball team had the daunting task of facing a top-five ranked Division I opponent. And for the third time, the Leopards came away with little to show for their effort, in terms of wins and losses.
