In light of the disgusting hate and violence targeted at the Asian community, many online platforms have been taking action to diminish hate speech and threats toward Asians.

Growing up, I spent my entire life knowing only one of my grandparents from both sides of my family. My grandmother, Wanda, is the best grandmother I could ever ask for as she has taken care of me like she was my mother. But a part of me always wanted to know more. This year has been full of surprises, and luckily I had the pleasure of meeting my grandfather for the first time ever.

There are a lot of different elements that make up the essence of Halloween, such as costumes, family traditions, decorations and the actual history of the holiday. One of the most important parts of Halloween is the horror genre, more specifically scary movies. These films influence costumes and really big events to celebrate the spooky season, but it is important to recognize how these movies have progressed into what they are today. 

Recruitment is the most important time of the year for sororities on any campus at any school. This is the period where we potentially welcome new members into our organizations. Usually, we compete with other sororities on campus, but this year our biggest competition was the pandemic. 

My senior year in college was supposed to be filled with laughter, fun moments with my friends, and self discovery as I approach the time when I am supposed to finalize my career. I have always been one with a plan, but it is safe to say the things I have experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic were certainly unexpected.
