The University of La Verne’s baseball team won its season-high ninth consecutive SCIAC game Monday, 8-5, against Pomona-Pitzer. Following numerous rain delays over the weekend, the game was finally played last Monday.
After winning a three game series against the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen on Feb. 17 and 18, the University of La Verne Leopards defeated the Caltech Beavers last weekend to stay undefeated and in first place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a perfect record.
With the major league baseball strike still unresolved and keeping its place in the news, many fans believe there will be no baseball. However, that is not the case with the University of La Verne Leopards around. Fans of the game can still go to the ball park and enjoy “America’s pastime.” After finishing last season second in conference with a record of 15-6, they are optimistic about the season ahead.
