In the midst of sexual assault scandal storms sweeping industries from Hollywood to politics and everything in between, many men have just now come to realize that this is the ugly reality women from all walks of life have always had to face. While naming names and outing prominent men help put a face on the issue and show how frequent and widespread it is, the truth is that women have known and denounced these types of behaviors all along and have just not been taken seriously.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expelled film producer and sexual predator Harvey Weinstein, but not other notable abusers — including Bill Cosby, Roman Polanski and Casey Affleck — showing that they are just saving face and are willing to let other abusers off the hook.

Last week a heartbreaking split between two movie big-timers shook Hollywood. And no I’m not talking about Brad and Jen, but the successful relationship of the Weinstein brothers and Miramax, owned by Disney.
