The Los Angeles County Fair made its annual return, as did the Haunt Super Show for its third year at the Fair in Expo Hall 9, along with its dozens of Halloween and horror-themed vendors. Catering to horror fans’ desire for everything related to the movie genre, the Haunt Super Show had guests swarming to their freaky fun displays. 

Vampires, goblins and werewolves, oh my! April 22 was not the typical night for any lover of horror. I put my Freddy Krueger sweater dress on with my tall brown boots and was ready to submerge into the fandom that was found at the eighth annual three-day Monster­palooza horror convention created by Monsterpalooza President Elio Brodsky.

Pumpkins are carved, candy bowls are filled and everyone is dressed in her favorite costume. That is right, it is Halloween again, and one of the best parts about this holiday is curling up on the couch and watching a good old fashioned horror movie.

It’s no secret: I love blood and guts. I love campy thrills and over-the-top gore. I love staring at the big screen while watching some angst-ridden teen or distraught babysitter lose her head thanks to a creepy mental ward escapee in a hockey mask.

Some people might call me a little morbid. I have a thing for monsters, spooky whatnots and horror movies. The walls of my room are covered in posters complete with snapshots of all of my favorite cinematic serial killers.

Since its invention in 1932 the television has sparked emotions of love, hate and anger through its powerful shows, series and specials. One of the emotions most commonly sought after through the television medium is that of fear.
