As the University of La Verne men's volleyball team prepared for the Division III championship match against Juniata College last Saturday, victory was on the team's mind.

As a men's volleyball player at the Division III level, there has been little incentive to go beyond the regular season. That is, until now. The University of La Verne, in the second year of Division III playoffs, has qualified for the four-team championships.

The 1998 season has come down to one match for the University of La Verne Leopards. Today against the UC San Diego Tritons, the Leopards' whole season is on the line.

With the commencement of the 1998 spring semester only a few months ahead, the University of La Verne's men's volleyball team has begun preparing for a new and competitive season.

Last Friday, University of La Verne students had the chance to become stars. The Associated Students Federation (ASF) Forum sponsored Fun Flicks. Billed as "Totally Interactive Video," it was a chance for students to make their own music videos from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center.

With the 13th toughest collegiate schedule in the nation this year, the University of La Verne men's volleyball team is out to prove one thing: it wants to be the first team to win the newly instated National Small Colleges Championship Division I tournament, and it has a reasonable shot at it.
