The University of La Verne decided to put their bats to bed early last weekend against SCIAC contender Cal Lutheran. After shutting out the Regals at home on Friday in game one 6-0, the Leopards could not find their offensive fire power on Saturday, losing twice 3-1 and 1-0 in Thousand Oaks.

With a 5-1 showing in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Round Robin Tournament, the University of La Verne's softball team proved itself to be a serious threat to all of its SCIAC competitors.

Execution was the key for the University of La Verne's softball team as it split a doubleheader against defending SCIAC champion Cal Lutheran Regals on Saturday.
