Wine enthusiasts filled the streets of Old Town La Verne Saturday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. as local restaurants offered wine, food and live music to those in attendance. 

Professor and Librarian Emeritus Marlin Heckman gives a detailed timeline of how Lordsburg Hotel transitioned to University of La Verne at “The Lordsburg Hotel: Its Rise and Demise,” a presentation sponsored by the La Verne Historical Society.

Immediately following the destructive December fire, the University of La Verne’s landmark Hanawalt house was fenced off – to be left alone until its fate was decided.

The La Verne community’s history may be protected thanks to a walking tours program set to start Saturday.
