As team captain for the University of La Verne women's volleyball team, 5'7" senior outside hitter Lynsey Best exemplified the characteristics that a team captain should have. Not only did she help lead the team to a second place SCIAC finish, Best also lead by example in never quitting and by always pushing herself in the off-season, regular season and post-season.
Considering the University of La Verne women's volleyball team failed to defend its conference championship title or qualify for playoffs, head coach Don Flora was more than satisfied last Friday night in the Supertents, as the team finished the season with a win over Whittier College in four games; 15-10, 13-15, 15-9 and 15-10.
With a 11-15 overall record, the University of La Verne women's volleyball team's chances of a postseason berth as the second place team in SCIAC are slim.
