I am outraged at Merritt Beckett’s demonstration of accessibility on campus that was featured in the Oct. 6 paper.

What does it take to achieve fame in today’s society? A cunning disposition? A special talent? Possibly saving a child from a burning building? Maybe once-upon-a-time, when fame was really earned, these sorts of attributes did achieve fame, but in today’s scandal hungry civilization, all it takes is an illegal lifestyle or an affiliation with a high profile crime to get your name all over the headlines.
