Recently the Athletic Training Education Program was awarded a five-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
On Sept. 27, Gov. Gray Davis signed into law a bill that will affect the labeling and sales of diet aids containing the ephedrine alkaloids or steroid hormone precursors, such as androstenedione.
The University of La Verne Athletic Training Education Program recently applied for accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs review board, which the University hopes to obtain for the program by next year.
"The mission of (the National Athletic Trainers Association) is to enhance the quality of health care for athletes and those engaged in physical activity, and to advance the profession of athletic training through education and research in the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries."
