A pair of students from the University of La Verne debate team made it into the top 32 and advanced to octofinals at the 2015 United States Universities Debating Championship April 11 to 13 at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Motivated by its recent international win in Canada, the debate team continued its successful streak, placing first in the UC Davis tournament this month for the second year in a row.
The debate team made the record books last weekend in British Columbia as captains Carl Decker and Sam French won their first international championship; the first in University of La Verne history.
When Michaeline Anderson isn’t in the classroom teaching speech communication, she’s in the classroom learning everything from contemporary art to records management, currently continuing her masters education at San Jose State and bringing her diverse teachings to students at the University of La Verne.
