Toying with parallelism between two completely different time periods with sophistication and intellect, Pomona College’s department of theater and dance presented “Arcadia,” a play written by Tom Stoppard, for three nights last week, Oct. 5 through 7.

Jason and Aaron White’s performance “The Dance,” a powerful reflection on the depth of racial stereotyping within our culture, explored the painful truth about the history of American minstrels. Roughly 40 audience members attended the show on April 21 in Allen Studio Theatre at Pomona College.

University of Chicago Anthropologist Tanya Luhrmann visited Pomona College and presented “Chicago’s Netherworld: An Ethnography of Psychosis on the Streets" earlier this month.

Crime novelist Paula Woods, winner of this year’s Moseley Fellowship, read from her latest mystery novel at Pomona College in front of roughly 25 faculty members, students and community members April 20 as part of the college’s literary series.

“Here’s my life, make an offer.” This sign greeted audience members of “Rocket Man,” a student produced play at Pomona College directed by Jake Stoebel, which debuted April 13.
