When Talin Baharian came to this country, America was celebrating its birthday. Patriotic people were out in the streets rejoicing, children all around were holding sparklers and a light show of fountains was circling the night air. As colors of red, white and blue lit up and kindled the fireworks sky, Baharian sat back with her family and wondered if America was like this every night. But that was 15 years ago and Baharian knows better now.
The women’s volleyball team is off to a rocky start with its 0-1 SCIAC record, and 2-11 overall, after a Tuesday night loss to Occidental College, 10-15, 10-15, 15-6, and 7-17.
With nearly three weeks of practice under their belt, the women’s volleyball team is prepared to take on the competition at the Mills College Tournament in Oakland, Calif., beginning today.
