The University of La Verne Communications Department was recently awarded at the 49th annual California Intercollegiate Press Association (CIPA) awards, held April 17-19. The event was hosted by University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

High school flew by and suddenly I was faced with college and the many decisions accompanying it. Staring down at stacks of applications from various schools, I began to answer mind-boggling questions such as my high school GPA, parents' income and whether I wanted to live on campus. Then I came across a head stumper: my major.

Unlike any other Greek organizations on the University of La Verne campus, Iota Delta Sorority has an auxillary group separate from the sorority itself consisting only of men-the Iota Men.

La Verne Magazine led a barrage of awards received by the University of La Verne Communications Department in the past six months.

Every year, each academic department on campus recognizes the top students in its department in the annual Academic Awards night. Tuesday, the University hosted those students and their families in Founders Auditorium for the ceremony.

The Campus Times and La Verne Magazine each enjoyed its best performance ever in the prestigious Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Gold Circle Awards, announced recently in New York City. The two publications won a total of 10 Gold Circle Awards in a nation-wide journalism competition sponsored by Columbia University and College Media Advisers, Inc.
