The La Verne Fire Department (LVFD) received an alarm at 5:02 Wednesday evening to respond to a possible fire on the corner of First and D Streets, the site of the ULV Art Building.
A city ordinance that controls skateboarders, roller skaters and roller bladers has been an area of change since the Feb. 16 confrontation between ULV Graphics Manager Raffi Zinzalian and a skateboarding youth in front of the stairs of the AAIC building. On Wednesday, two signs detailing the city’s no skateboarding rule were posted in front of AAIC.
The La Verne Art Department will be moving from its present location in the Student Center to the Central Services Building due to recent plans to expand the University.
Vandalism and other crimes have been on the rise this semester at the University of La Verne. Much of it is being blamed on alcohol use by students and lack of pride.
The ULV print shop and mail room will be relocated to the old packing house on the southwest corner of First and D Streets. According to Brian Worley, supervisor of buildings and grounds, the move will be completed by mid-December.
