Track and field does not consist of just a couple of referees, one scoreboard, 60 minutes or nine innings. It takes much more than that to put together a track and field invitational.
This year, the University of La Verne has two new additions to the track team. They are not runners, but are the guiding forces for the team. Assistant coaches Robert Sprung and Will Darity have joined the coaching staff with hopes of helping members of the team succeed, both as people and as athletes.
With new runners, two new coaches and a new season, the Leopard track team tested its talent at the Caltech Invitational Saturday, Feb. 24, in Pasadena.
