Kickball tourney cancelled

Campus Activity Board Vice Chairwoman Samantha Toia and Intramural Chairman Jacob Delgado were in charge of the kickball tournament expected to take place on April 15 in the University Mall.

The Campus Activities Board hosted a chili cook fff on Tuesday in Davenport. Chili cook-off judge Michelle Ajemian congratulates Samantha Toia on her victory in the chili competition. “I was relieved when I won first place because my chili was the only entry in the competition, and if I didn’t win then I would have been worried about my cooking ability,” Toia said. Toia was awarded with a $30 gift certificate to Chili’s Restaurant and her chili will be served in Davenport. / photo by Troy Doolittle

Amidst gold chandeliers, soft lighting and decorated masks on the tables, University of La Verne students felt like royalty at a grand ball during Saturday’s “Midnight Masquerade” winter formal at the Pomona Sheraton.

Mr. ULV contestant Jonathon Fitzhugh, a senior, jumped into senior behavioral science major Liz Canales’ performance during the CAB talent show for the Mr. ULV and Miss ULV pageant. Fitzhugh also danced the salsa with Sara Weythman as a combined talent entry. Brianna Gonzales and Fitzhugh won the competition, receiving $200 each. Pageant brings out best in students

Senior accounting major Jon Fitzhugh and sophomore psychology major Brianna Gonzales were named Mr. and Ms. ULV in the annual Mr. and Ms. ULV competition held on May 9 in Founders Auditorium.

When K.T. Tatara isn’t doing his stand-up routine, he likes to scratch records and play the piano. This 27-year-old comedian joked about drunken girls and about being half Asian and half white. Comedian K.T. Tatara, who is also known as “the Poon Sensei,” offered up some interesting insights on life late Wednesday night at the final comedy show of the year.

Kober creates delicious laughter

There is not a lot to say about Jen Kober’s performance other than if you chose to go back to your room to do homework, decided to go to bed early, or went to get dinner with your friends, then it sucks to be you.

Nicknamed “The Full Charge,” comedian Matt Fulchiron took the stage Feb. 8 at Founders Auditorium wearing his $7 thrift store duds. Fulchiron is a Baltimore native who takes pride in his ability to “rock microphones” since he was 18 months old. The first week back for Spring semester is usually a slow one so it was almost shocking to see Founders Auditorium to near capacity at 10 p.m. on Feb. 8.

Neither driver sustained major injuries when a PT Cruiser driven by a University of La Verne student flipped over in a collision Monday with a white Toyota Corolla at D Street and Arrow Highway. Student car flipped in LV accident

Nobody was seriously injured Monday when a white Toyota Corolla collided with a University of La Verne student’s PT Cruiser causing the Cruiser to flip over on the corner of D Street and Arrow Highway, less than half a block from campus.
