I just wanted to make a comment about the article “Taking It to the Streets” by Mark Vidal (Nov. 21).
Taking It to the Streets
Proposition 8 eliminated the right of same-sex couples to marry in California two weeks ago, putting an end to dueling campaign commercials and rampant sign snatchings. Nevertheless, there is no end in sight for the controversy.

After reviewing the article you wrote, I wanted to inform you that the LASIK industry is flat out lying and misrepresenting false success rates stating that about 95 percent of patients are a success, and 5 percent are failures.
Prop. 8 threatens equality
One of the biggest and most controversial issues in this election is Proposition 8. You’ve seen the signs up in people’s yards, making it very clear that they disapprove of gay marriage by proudly displaying their bright and sunny yellow signs proclaiming, “Yes on Prop 8.”
Prop. 8 protects family values
Black and white, right and wrong, good and bad. All of these are absolutes. A majority of voters appear to view Proposition 8 from positions of absolutism.
