I know that I am not alone when I say Big Brother has been getting a little too nosy over the last few years. Sure, I may sound a wee bit paranoid, but I can’t be the first person to wonder if her telephone conversations were being recorded or if that flower delivery truck parked across the street was really there to perform non-floral related services.

Act threatens personal freedom

After passage of the USA Patriot Act by Congress on Oct. 24, 2001, many Americans felt the fear of diminishing civil liberties in response to President George W. Bush's crusade against terrorism. Now, his administration has drafted the Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003, which further infringes upon Americans' civil liberties in the name of national security.

Collision not excuse for political war

It is the same game that has been played for years and was even a scene in the movie "Top Gun." Military planes fly out to the border of international airspace to say 'hello' to the foreign military that is conducting routine surveillance missions. But it was not a routine accident that occurred last Sunday.
