Like it or not, we all have things that annoy us, rub us the wrong way, push our buttons, or just plain set us off. For future reference, here are some of my personal top vote-getters, in no particular order.

In case you didn’t hear (or simply didn’t care), on Monday the U.S. and Canada’s two competing satellite radio providers, XM and Sirius, announced that they were merging to form a single company.

Last week something more rare and awe-inspiring than Halley’s Comet, snow falling in Malibu and Nicole Richie shopping for a girdle combined took place. What was this momentously monumental occasion? Why, the BBC show “Top Gear” being shown on American TV, of course.

It’s been said that you can’t have too much of a good thing, but there are some notable exceptions to that aphorism. Fried foods, enthusiasm from news media personalities and prescription drugs all quickly come to mind, but one thing that is also dangerous in excess is a little old taxpayer-funded, state-operated agency called the California Air Resource Board.

America has been widely regarded as the ultimate land of freedom and opportunity almost since day one, but lately some cynics have been saying that the American Dream is becoming harder and harder to attain, especially for those from below-average socioeconomic backgrounds. Well, those naysayers obviously never met my neighbor Liviu.

This past weekend a truly historical event in sports history took place. The only problem is almost no mainstream media outlets gave it even a cursory mention and, frankly, I’m not surprised.
