A vacancy for student coordinator of activities is available for the spring 1998 term.
The position is opened to all registered traditional full-time undergraduates.
Students looking for an opportunity to become more involved in student life at La Verne are being sought by Melissa Jaunal, coordinator of student programs and affairs, the position’s supervisor. Those who work well with others and have the desire to showcase leadership programming skills are encouraged to apply for the position.
Headlining the responsibilities of the position is the development of an annual calendar of student life events for publication and distribution. Coordinating monthly educational activities for students as well as serving on committees also fill the job description.
Qualifications for the position are common with other leadership positions on campus. A maintained grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or higher is required. Positive character traits, including responsibility, reliability and dependability, are a must.
Timewise, the job asks for 10 hours per week minimum. The hired student will receive a $1,200 annual Leadership Education and Development Program (LEAD) scholarship ($600 per semester) and have an automatic membership into the LEAD program.
Auxiliary qualifications include artistic ability, creativity and previous programming experience. Students are encouraged to “use their own creativity,” said Jaunal.
Applications for this position may be picked up at the Student Center desk. The deadline to return applications is Feb. 27.
