Leopards spike into new season undefeated

Junior outside hitter Brittany Yaxley’s spike resulted in a kill against Whitworth from Spokane, Washington, last Friday at the Pacific Coast Classic tournament at Frantz Athletic Court. La Verne won the match, 3-1. The Leopards also defeated Wheaton from Illinois, 3-0, earlier in the day. On the second day of the tournament, La Verne defeated St. Scholastica from Minnesota, 3-1 and UC Santa Cruz, 3-1. La Verne’s next game is at 2 p.m. Saturday against Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
