The University of La Verne debate team was crowned the fall U.S. National Debate Champions Nov. 19 at the Claremont Colleges, and is now heading to the World Championships in Mexico City this December.

Every year, an average of 321,500 women are raped or sexually assaulted in the U.S. Around 750,000 teen girls got pregnant last year. Nearly 65 percent of women experienced street harassment in 2014. But there is a notable underlying problem with these statistics. They all place the focus on the women and girls who are affected, instead of emphasizing the men and boys who cause them.

As part of the Social Justice Lecture Series, Dr. Joel Fuhrman educated a crowd of more than 200 people with his presentation “Optimize or Destroy Brain Potential with Food.”

Kathy Louis-Sanders is not the typical business student; she came to University of La Verne with her own business, a doctorate in theology and years of marketing experience under her belt. In January 2019 the senior business administration major will receive her diploma at the age of 61.

Heritage Park Pumpkin Patch has become more than several rows of pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors. With a tractor-drawn hay ride, a petting zoo and the historic nature of the property, the patch at Heritage Park is a yearly family tradition.
