I like to think of myself as a reasonable man. I have my beliefs, convictions, oddities, the like, but I don’t feel threatened when they are questioned or in conflict.

The University of La Verne has received a nearly $900,000 National Science Foundation Grant for scholarships and internships. The money will be distributed by the La Verne Noyce Teacher Scholars Program, which provides up to $15,000 a year for students who are interested in teaching biology, mathematics, chemistry and physics.

BBC Radio called on the University of La Verne Professor Kathleen Lamkin for her expertise and research of classical music composer Joseph Haydn during a Sept. 18 performance of “Heroic Vienna,” performed by the BBC National Chorus and the Orchestra of Wales.

Low enrollment, compounded by the lagging economy, has required the University of La Verne to cut its 2009-2010 budget by $5.8 million.

Casino and Karaoke Night finished off a week of events organized by the students and faculty of the Student Life administration, where both students and faculty were invited to games of laser tag and outings at Boomers.
