University of La Verne staff and faculty introduced “An Artful Reframing,” a collaborative effort to reflect on the University's history and shine a light on previously underrepresented voices, before about 25 community members in the Campus Center Ballroom Monday, with 19 more who joined via Zoom.
Roughly 20 students, faculty and staff gathered for the University’s third annual Rites of Passage ceremony Sept. 9 in the Ludwick Center Sacred Space to honor community, rich spiritual and cultural African traditions.
To kick off National Hispanic Serving Institution, or HSI, week, the University held a forum on Monday in the Ludwick Center Sacred Space with roughly 30 attendees. National Hispanic Serving Institution week is new, and the University is celebrating for the first year to recognize the Latino student body.
One of the final sessions of this year’s diversity retreat sessions focused on gender identity, sexism and gender stereotypes. About 15 community members attended the April 22 event, part of the series put on by the Center of Multicultural Services, which focused this year on justice, diversity and equity.
