There is something about the University of La Verne volleyball team that its Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition cannot seem to overcome.

It was a historic night for the University of La Verne women's volleyball team in the Supertents on Tuesday as it broke the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference consecutive win record with its 25th straight conference win with a victory over Whittier, 3-1.

With consecutive conference wins last Friday and Tuesday, the University of La Verne women's volleyball team earned itself the opportunity to be forever etched in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record book.

In a pre-conference tune-up the University of La Verne women's volleyball team showed total domination as it easily swept past Chapman University, 3-0 (30-15, 30-22, 30-23), Tuesday night at Hutton Sports Center in Orange to improve its mark to 5-0 and live up to the billing of being the nation's fifth ranked team.

The University of La Verne women's volleyball team earned a perfect 4-0 record to begin the season at the Whittier Invitational tournament hosted by Whittier last weekend.
