A University of La Verne debate team placed an impressive 12th place in the World Universities Debating Championships, beating out Yale, Princeton, MIT and all of its U.S. competitors in the annual tournament held in January in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

The University of La Verne debate team continued its tradition of excellence as it vied for the top spot at the Oxford International Intervarsity Debate Competition on Nov. 8 and 9 in England.

This past Saturday I was an 'adjudicator' at the International Debate Tournament held on campus. It was organized by Ian Lising, the Instructor of debate and speech with the help of members of the debate team.
