A parade of nations occupied the University Mall as the Fifth Annual International Celebration occurred Tuesday. Consisting of booths, food and a multi-cultural talent show, it showcased the various cultural backgrounds of La Verne’s international students.

Along with this year’s changes in the makeup of the meal services staff in Davenport Dining Hall, some positive changes have occurred. The overall quality of the food has been improved. The new soft serve ice cream machine, for instance, is a definite bonus for those who want the taste and texture of ice cream without all of that harmful fat.

Joining together for a common goal, ULV greeks have combined their forces to serve the community with the organizations’ first Charity Greek Week.

It was a clear, warm October morning in Georgia back in 1942 when Bennie Jones said goodbye to his mother for the last time. Jones was being drafted into the Army and was uncertain about ever coming back home. Fifty-two years later, Jones is once again about to say goodbye to another group of people.

According to Norm Venables, the new director of dining services at Davenport Dining Hall, he had expressed a desire to work at the University of La Verne for several years.
