The new academic year brings dramatic change in the face of leadership at the University of La Verne, with students and faculty welcoming a new crew of four high-level appointees at a Sept. 4 reception in the Arts and Communications Building.

The University of La Verne moved one step closer yesterday to selecting a new athletic director after the committee responsible for evaluating candidates made their recommendation to President Stephen Morgan.

The University of La Verne's search for a replacement athletic director for retiring director Jimmy Paschal has been narrowed down to a handful of candidates.

"It's time for me to move on to something else. We need a new energy."

Jim Paschal, athletic director at the University of La Verne, will be retiring after the 2002-2003 sports seasons.
