I am writing in response to last week's column, "Bilingual advantages immeasurable," written by Angelica Martinez. It seems as though Miss Martinez has a strong opinion about the issue of bilingual education being incorporated into California school systems, but I hate to differ.

Why stop here? With the addition of some new sports on campus, the University of La Verne should expand and insert even more sports, like wrestling.

I am not a huge sports fan, but on occasion I have been known to go to a few games. Games can be exciting with diehard fans going crazy, screaming and yelling in support of a team, some of them with painted faces and funky get-ups.

Imagine, the University of La Verne, a small town school with an NCAA Division I athletic program that dominated local universities in every sport. It might be a dream to some coaches and alumni at La Verne, but it is something that should be left for bigger, more financially-sound institutions to deal with.
