Awards honor employees for time, dedication
Various service awards were distributed Wednesday, May 17 to dedicated employees at the University of La Verne.
Ceremony honors students
Alpha Delta, the University of La Verne chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, had its first initiation ceremony recognizing students who have completed their first year of college with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Qualifying students must also have full-time status.
Admissions restructuring continues
Transition is evident for the University of La Verne's Office of Admissions, where the search for a new director continues, where the staff is not yet solidified and where new recruiting tactics are in revision.
Jefferson takes on dean role
Dr. Barbara Jefferson has left her position at University Relations to become the assistant dean of the School of Business and Global Studies.
Award to benefit program
The University of La Verne is one of six recipients of a 1996 Edison International Grant for excellence in higher education.
Biology receives $1.5 million endowed chair
The Fletcher Jones Foundation, a California nonprofit benefit corporation, has granted the proposal of the Biology Department for $1.5 million "to endow and establish the Fletcher Jones Chair in Biology at the University of La Verne."
