The baseball team ended its 2015 season on a high note, surpassing its original goal of winning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
The University of La Verne baseball team came out on top against the No. 1 seeded Texas-Tyler Patriots Wednesday, winning its first game of the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, 2-0.
The La Verne baseball team defeated No. 1 seeded Cal Lutheran, 4-2, after junior shortstop Woody Reyes drove in two runs on a single to second in the top of the seventh, ensuring the Leopards’ win and claiming their title as Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions Sunday at Ullman Stadium in Thousand Oaks.
The baseball team came out of a tough loss, as they dropped their third straight game in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pool Play, losing 10-9 in 10 innings, against the Whittier Poets Sunday at Ben Hines Field.
The La Verne baseball team defeated Chapman in seven innings, 11-1, in the second game of its doubleheader Saturday at Ben Hines Field. The Leopards dropped the first game, 7-5.
