Veterans center to open in fall

More than 200 veterans enrolled as students at the University of La Verne will soon have a home base on campus. The Veteran Student Success Center is set to open its doors in September.

Ghostly past still haunts University

From hearing footsteps when no one is there to feeling cold sensations on a warm day, La Verne community members stay they still sense the University’s haunted history. Specifically some refer to ghosts of Evelyn Marshalt, David Glassa and Jim Henderson – whose ghosts they swear still linger.

University lacks resources for veterans, takes steps to meet unique needs

Robert Kehrberg, 25, an Air Force veteran who served for five years, had a “team” to depend on every day while working 12-hour shifts from midnight to noon, seven days a week. In Kuwait, from 2012-13 he was an integrated avionics systems specialist, which means he maintained and fixed planes.

La Verne remembers 9/11 victims

Approximately 30 people gathered at noon Sept. 11 around the rock, to honor the anniversary of 9/11 for the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and the Veteran Student Success’ September 11 Remembrance.
