Six University of La Verne students and recent alumni won a total of seven first- and second-place awards in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence western regional contest recognizing college journalism published in 2018.
La Verne journalism students and recent graduates were awarded seven times over in the Society of Professional Journalist’s Mark of Excellence competition, with awards announced Saturday in Los Angeles.
The Campus Times and La Verne Magazine both won Silver Crown awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, or CSPA, putting them among the top 40 publications total to win Gold or Silver crowns among a field of 1,100 entrants for the 2016-17 academic year.
