Writer-producer Gay Walch, famous for writing the Warner Brothers Network's “Summerland,” came on Tuesday to the University to share her experience with Kurt Inderbitzin's Mass Media class.
In a strong performance at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference track and field championships, the University of La Verne men’s and women’s track teams put together a total team effort but came up short as they ran into a pumped up Claremont team that swept both the men’s and women’s team titles, Monday afternoon at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
In the last two meets, in San Luis Obispo and Azusa, the University of La Verne track team has qualified several athletes to go to the NCAA national competition in June.
With the goal of nationals on their minds, individuals from the University of La Verne track and field team competed in the Occidental Invitational Saturday, in a last attempt to gain national berths.
The University of La Verne women's track team grabbed the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference crown, while the men's team showed a strong performance, taking second place in the conference.
