I am an alumnus and was recently browsing the Campus Times Web site when I came across the article regarding the formation of a MEChA chapter at ULV.
First, thanks for publishing my words, and thanks to those who appreciate them. I just prefer to be positive and constructive, without making obscene, self-righteous and ridiculous statements like our friend Todd Farrell (“Letters to the Editor,” Nov. 14).
Good satire is hard to find these days, so I for one especially appreciated Andrew Barton’s lampoon of right-wing bluster and illogic in the Feb. 28 issue [“Letters to the Editor”].
The Student Center seems almost like a skeleton of empty rooms where the Communications Department once was.
I would like to thank Mr. Casarez for his insightful letter [Sept. 21]. There is no question that insane murderers committed a horrible crime against humanity on Sept. 11. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. Killing innocent people can never be justified under any circumstances.
His warm smile and easygoing demeanor seem almost to contradict the grim, though important, research to which he’s devoted so many years.
