College friendships leave lasting impressions

In life, sometimes, there are friends or acquaintances you are destined to meet. Some change your life for the better and maybe one or two of them change your life for the worse. It seems there is a synchronicity in life where the people around you are destined to be there to influence, educate and enrich your life in some way.

Male-female friendship not a myth

Friendship is something that is very important to me. I am often upset when I hear people say there is no such thing as a platonic relationship between a man and a woman.

True friends one in a million

I have noticed that in recent issues of the Campus Times, the editorial board has been making an effort to write more positive, uplifting columns and editorials. Focusing on the good things vs. the bad things here at our university. So to keep the tradition going, I will write on a positive note rather than have in a negative piece.

I have always believed in the saying "Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver, the other, gold," but recently, I laugh when I think about this phrase. It seems like a big lie, even though it may not be in reality.

Growing up or growing apart?

When I was in sixth grade, the girl who ended up becoming my best friend sat behind me, over in the row to the left of mine. I do not know why I remember that exact location, but I guess there are certain things you never forget, especially things close to the heart.

Your best friend is you

It is another Tuesday morning in this demanding world we live in. I wake up to the annoying beep of an alarm clock, push the snooze button as fast as I can to turn it off and pull the blankets completely over my head, knowing that I have four morning classes, work and editing to do for the newspaper until 6 p.m. I mean, let's be realistic. How many people actually turn off their alarms and jump right out of bed? There are probably few on the list.
