The Art Department has suffered a temporary loss this year with the absence of Associate Professor of Art George Stone.

Although the groundwork is still being completed, George Stone, associate professor of art, presented several slides of his (Los Angeles Station) Metrolink project, which is composed of naturalistic rocks and terrain.

Art is an expression of oneself and Keith Lord expresses himself everyday through his new position as the full-time art studio manager.

As dim lights glowed, seductive music enveloped the space where 10 models expressively traveled through dangling sheets of metal. The metal was hung sporadically in the University of La Verne's Art Building Wednesday evening as senior art major Jamie Bigornia displayed his senior art thesis exhibit in a fashion show entitled "Discomfort."

"Good art is not meant to answer questions but to impose questions and engage emotion and thought," said George Stone, associate professor of art.

With a wide array of options, the University of La Verne's Art Department majors can emphasize in anything from art history to sculpting.
