Due to the increase in the number of the orange and green electric carts on campus, training will now be required for those workers who drive them.

The La Verne Police Department (LVPD) responded to a call made by Henry Negrette, campus security agent, on Monday regarding threatening phone calls made to Joanne Gonzalez, account manager for Marriott Services, the housekeeping service for the University of La Verne.

The average American throws away four pounds of trash daily, which is twice as much as Europeans or Japanese generate, according to the ULV Recycles pamphlet distributed around campus.

Usually when you go to the store and break something, you are responsible for paying for the item you broke. When you pay money to rent an apartment or condo and see that vandalism has been plastered throughout the place which you call home, you expect to see that the vandalism is taken care of and that its damages are paid for by your landlord or owner. After all, that’s what the rent is for, especially when your rental contract clearly states that owners will be responsible for any items or property which is broken or damaged.

Nearly 100 years ago it housed a lemon packing company. Last February it was extensively damaged – and became a media star – in the 5.5 Claremont earthquake.
