The University of La Verne inducted eight former student-athletes, as well as the entire 1981 women’s volleyball national championship team, into the Athletics Hall of Fame at a ceremony Saturday at Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center.

The University of La Verne men’s and women’s swimming teams concluded their seasons last Thursday through Saturday at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Invite held at the Cerritos Aquatic Center.

For all but the die-hard followers, water polo has never been the popular sport for children to play.

When it comes to athletes in the University of La Verne’s history, many athletes may come to mind. There are the well known ones such as former football and track standout Anthony Rice, but then there are the new comers that only few know and all need to hear.

The women’s volleyball team won yet another Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, once again proving to be the pride of ULV athletics. Each of the fall sports, however, worked hard and showed signs of greatness at times.
