The Leopards’ magical playoff run ended with a 2-1 loss to Pomona-Pitzer in 10 innings on Sunday, capping off their appearance in the NCAA Super Regional at Ben Hines Field.
At Ben Hines Field, La Verne left no doubt about their dominance for their Senior Day, overwhelming Chapman in a doubleheader with commanding victories of 15-2 and 14-2. The seniors were honored before and after the game.
La Verne beat Caltech, 16–3, on April 4 at Ben Hines Field after coming back from a 3–0 deficit early on in the game. There were 50 people in attendance. The win marked head coach Scott Winterburn’s 600th career victory.
The Leopards beating the Poets, 17-15. La Verne swept the weekend series with Whittier, giving them a record of 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
