The University of La Verne men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams held their own at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships Feb. 19-21 in Cerritos, finishing in fourth place.
The 2003-2004 Southern California Intercollegiate Conference regular season ended for the University of La Verne men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams with Saturday’s loss at Pomona-Pitzer. The men were outscored 146-76, and the women took a 175-57 defeat.
As the seasons change, so do the sports. It is time to lay down the pads, bring down the nets, lace up the Jordans and, of course, it is time to hit the pools for some swimming and diving.
Paying the price for a tough schedule of five games in nine days, the University of La Verne men's water polo team dropped their last conference game at home against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 4-3, Friday and a non-conference game against the Air Force Academy, 12-1, Sunday.
