Baseball raises $15k for Ortegas
Gearing up for its 2009 season, the University of La Verne baseball team played its annual alumni game, Saturday at Upland Memorial Park. In addition to the game, a charity event was being held benefiting the James and Theresa Ortega Children Memorial Fund.

It was another disappointing week for the University of La Verne baseball team. After a tough weekend, ULV lost on Monday, 11-4, to Desales University. They dropped two games Saturday to Pomona Pitzer, 11-6 and 16-3, in a doubleheader. ULV lost another to Pomona-Pitzer, 10-8, Friday.

After losing 4-3 Friday night, the University of La Verne baseball team rallied back to crush Occidental in both games in a double header Saturday afternoon to complete the three-game series.
Team efforts propel sweep of Stags
A shutout, 46 runs and a defensive showcase capped off the week for the La Verne baseball team as they swept Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and one non-conference game against nationally ranked DeSales University of Pennsylvania.
