La Verne Police had no suspects Wednesday after a Monday morning bomb threat on campus forced the evacuation of two buildings and the cancellation of dozens of classes.
The police are sworn to uphold the law, to serve and protect and to set an example for society. However, too often hypocrites among them give all police officers a bad name, forget their responsibilities and still manage to get away with nothing more than a scolding. Police Capt. Kenneth Swank of the La Verne Police Department knows what it is like to be a hypocrite.
For the second time in recent memory, the La Verne Police Department has disappointed its community by giving lenient punishments internally in the name of justice.
